THE GIG
Working in a fast-paced team for the Senior Global Financial Accounting Manager, the Global Financial Accounting Manager will have responsibility for 1 direct report and will manage the general ledger for all entities within the DM Group including those in the EMEA, Americas, APAC Regions and the Holding Companies. The team will have a specific focus on Gross Margin, Stock & Opex (key metrics for the Group).
As our Global Financial Accounting Manager you will be responsible for:
1. Own, review, and analyse all global postings related to Gross Margin, Stock, and Opex; investigate and resolve anomalies. Monitor inventory valuation and aged inventory across the Group, ensuring appropriate stock provisions. Manage the implementation of new accounting standards and provide technical expertise to the Transactional Finance team.
2. Oversee month-end processes, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance, completion of key tasks, and timely submission of balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare monthly and YTD P&L analysis, highlight key financial judgments, and support half-year and year-end audits. Contribute to Group Accounting policies to maintain consistency and compliance.
3. Liaise with key stakeholders across finance teams (Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Supply Chain Finance, and Regional Operations) to ensure accurate accounting entries and compliance with group deadlines. Drive process centralization, challenge inefficiencies, and implement best practices across the business.
4. Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring knowledge-sharing, cross-training, and adaptability. Promote a culture of excellence, encourage teamwork, and maintain a proactive, solution-focused approach within the Transactional Finance team.
5. Ensure compliance with global and local statutory accounting requirements. Identify risks, flag issues promptly, and drive resolutions. Provide ad-hoc support to the wider finance team and contribute to strategic projects to enhance operational efficiencies.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
1. Familiarity with Group Accounting, including overseas subsidiaries, multi-currency, and multi-site operations, with the ability to update and communicate accounting policies across the Group.
2. Confidence in building credibility quickly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
3. Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Word. Experience with D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) and OneStream is desirable but not essential.
4. Strong ability to work to agreed timetables and deadlines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes.
