Whatyou’ll do…
* Work aspart of a self-organised engineering team to design and developsoftware features or services that are delightful and vital in ourmission to help Britainprosper.
* Be a technicalleader both within your team and outside, coaching and/or mentoringother engineers asappropriate.
* Work with theproduct and engineering leads to achieve the vision and customeroutcomes for your Lab, through writing well-factored and testedcode.
* Be curious abouttechnology and understanding how things work. You'll influencepositively demonstrating the right values and behaviours as weimprove how wedeliver.
Whatwe’re lookingfor…
* A capabletechnical leader, who takes ownership of design and delivery and iswilling to help grow and guide junior engineers towards appropriatetarget architectures.
* Strongprogramming skills with a good working knowledge of Java, Spring,Spring Boot, REST, Microservices and modern toolsets likeKubernetes andJenkins
* Diverse technicalexperience and a proven ability to deliver high qualityapplications at scale. Strong knowledge of security patterns andbest practiceadvantageous.
* You’re able toeffectively communicate and work together across engineering tomaximise inner-sourcing opportunities and reducewaste.
* You’re an advocatefor quality and can support the team leveraging approaches such asCI/CD best practice, Pair Programming, TDD andBDD
Whatyou’ll get to learn… (any previous experience would beadvantageous)
* Workingin the public cloud domain at scale, primarily withGCP
* Solving real worldproblems and being comfortable working in a complex regulatedenvironment
