The Role & Responsibilities:
The finance team is at the heart of the organisation, providing financial support, advice, training and challenge to the organisation, through regular budget monitoring, assessment of proposals and other ad-hoc methods.
We are looking to appoint two Accountancy Technicians to work with the Accountancy team and budget managers to set and monitor budgets and produce relevant accounting entries for the annual Statement of Accounts. Both posts will be required to provide financial support, advice, training and challenge to the organisation, through regular budget monitoring, assessment of proposals and other ad-hoc methods.
The Accountancy Technician (Revenue) will also be responsible for:
- Supporting the VAT reconciliations and returns.
- Undertaking for the annual fees and charges process across the organisation.
The Accountancy Technician (Salaries) will also be responsible for:
- Setting & monitoring the salaries budgets across the council.
- Providing salary forecast data for the future and to support recruitment decisions.
You will also be required to support the Strategic Accountant in the production of the annual accounts, monitor and assess the implications of accounting and systems changes relevant to your role.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a fully qualified / final year Accounting Technician (A.A.T.) or person with equivalent proven accountancy experience. You will be an excellent communicator with good inter-personal skills and the ability to translate financial data into comprehensible formats for non-finance managers. Experience is needed in meeting deadlines, working with systems, using complex spreadsheets and working effectively as part of a team.
