A rare opportunity has arisen to join a well-established family run independent funeral service, Chenery Funeral Services Ltd, which has served the local area for nearly 90 years. The position requires a person who focuses on being highly professional in supporting and guiding families through the process of dealing with the passing of a loved one with empathy and integrity. As we are a small team it is important that the individual involves themselves in all aspects of the work undertaken to deliver the best possible service to the client. The applicant will be able to exhibit good inter-personal skills and be well mannered and presented. Training will be given to cover all aspects of the position. The primary Responsibilities and Duties will be but are not limited to:- Be responsible for the care of the Deceased Assisting in transfer of the Deceased from place of death to our Private Chapel of Rest. Complete back of house duties including preparation of coffins, caskets & cremated remains. Being available for on-call duties out of hours, any day of the week, often during the night. Being physically capable of manual handling. Training will be available. Having a full clean driving license; able to drive Funeral vehicles in the proper manner. Maintain a clean and respectful environment in our facilities. Meeting clients and families to arrange the details of funerals; liaising with third parties. Follow directions from the Funeral Director and Management. Comply with our robust practices in the the identification and tracking of the deceased. Be well presented - official Funeral Clothing is provided Act as a Pallbearer on funeral services and complete other tasks as deemed necessary This is a full time position 40 hours per week; 20 days paid leave plus bank holidays. Standard Annual salary of £26,000 paid monthly in arrears. Overtime and call outs attract additional payment. There will be a Probationary period of 6 months. A Personnel Review after that will assess the situation. The Company has a Workplace Pension scheme which the prospective employee will be able to join after a successful Probationary period of employment.
