The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. ERM ensures we have the right tools, processes and systems in place to identify, measure and manage our risks. As an ERM colleague, you can enhance your acumen by helping to shape and support our approach to enterprise risk management.
How you will create an impact:
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior ERM leadership team in the UK. You will be expected to take ownership of a range of risk assessment and reporting processes within operational risk management. You will have a great opportunity to engage with business leaders to review our operational risk profile and controls and help them to meet current and emerging regulatory expectations for operational and conduct risk. You will also be expected to provide operational risk input for the ORSA, Business Plan Risk Review, Stress Testing and Internal Model processes.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
1. Continue to develop and promote the operational risk framework for AIG UK
2. Support the ERM Business Partner in maintaining a regular cadence of engagement with risk owners across the business at all levels.
3. Manage the effective operation of the UK Operational Risk Committee, providing reporting on the UK Operational Risk profile.
4. Manage the Risk Event capture and reporting process for the UK.
5. Work with business leads to identify, implement, and monitor appropriate actions to manage operational risk effectively through RCSA, Risk Register updates, and other risk assessments.
6. Prepare draft reports, presentations, and contributions covering operational risk for key ERM deliverables.
7. Provide training on operational risk.
8. Support and maintain the Risk Champions network in the UK
9. Contribute to the wider goals of the ERM Team; for example: in support of Stress Testing and Emerging Risk review.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Operational risk experience – ideally within a Commercial General Insurer or other Financial Services / Regulated environment, or alternatively relevant first line operational experience and SME knowledge gained within an insurer
2. A curious nature and a challenge mindset
3. Experience of developing strong, collaborative relationships and a customer service focus
4. Strong experience of drafting papers and preparing high quality Committee Minutes
5. Strong experience of preparing high-quality reports and analysis
6. Experience of completing Risk and Control Self-Assessments
7. Experience managing a Risk Event reporting process
8. Experience designing and deploying risk management tools including MI, KRIs, Risk Reviews
9. An understanding of audit and compliance processes
