Madisons Recruitment are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a client of ours based in Lincolnshire.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will oversee the procurement and cost management for developments, ensuring efficient budgeting, cost control, and profitability. This role involves developing site start budgets, managing sub-contract processes, and collaborating closely with build and site teams to support the successful delivery of projects.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years in a similar Quantity Surveyor role
* Strong analytical approach to identifying and managing project costs, risks, and opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Lead all aspects of quantity surveying service on the projects.
* Attend and/or chair meetings with client.
* Prepare financial reports including monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), ensure cost-to-complete accuracy, and manage commercial budgets in line with accounting schedules.
* Monitor the communication of a project status.
* Provide advice on suitability and preparation of contract documents.
* Prepare management reports including detailed costed risk registers.
* Monitor performance milestones and deliverables alongside the Contracts Manager for optimal performance.
* Administer cost/variation procedures.
* Carry out full post contract surveying duties including establishing the effect of variations, settlement of accounts and disputes.
* Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
* Work closely with site teams to address any project issues and conduct risk assessments and contingency planning to address potential project challenges.
* Provide day-to-day cost management of projects from estimate preparation and cost planning through to final account settlements.
* Prepare and present detailed reports to clients, highlighting project status, financial performance, and risks.
* Management and mentorship of junior Quantity Surveyors within the team.
* Develop and manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documentation and evaluating bids.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and ensure best value for money.
* Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
* Maintain a comprehensive procurement database and records of all tendering activities.
