Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Interior Design Engineer Role requiring an understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture and idea generation with a distinct focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis and reporting.
2. Achieve cost target (piece price / VT, cost reduction).
3. Achieve quality target (NEVQS, warranty).
4. Achieve project KPI’s (Key performance indicators).
5. Provide technical solutions for development / market concern.
6. On time design note release / delivery.
7. Create concept sheets and support presentations to CVE.
8. Prepare Styling Feedback of A-Surface feasibility and technical requirements.
9. Manage full parts development and ensure cost, timing and delivery meet specifications.
10. Ensure knowledge of all regulatory requirements for each region.
11. Manage and influence coordination with other departments and suppliers.
12. Create RFQ (Request for Quotation) and review supplier concepts for cost and quality.
13. Conduct quote and breakdown analysis and validate supplier quotes meet RFQ and Concept needs.
14. Generate cost reduction ideas to secure product technical and commercial competitiveness.
15. Manage supplier activity and internal reporting.
16. Support global strategies with European customer voice.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Design / engineering qualification.
2. Previous automotive design and development experience.
3. Experience of cost breakdown analysis and working in a technical/commercial cross-functional team.
4. Knowledge of interior cabin parts / modules.
5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
6. Valid driving licence and ability to travel globally.
7. CAD interrogation skills.
8. Time management skills.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular).
Hours & Pay:
Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, £27.00 p/h
