As IT Infrastructure and Project Specialist you are part of the Luxottica Retail UK IT team. You provide a solid infrastructure on which stores/ office application, tools and services can operate. The expectation of the position is to be primarily responsible for overseeing both the technical, support and project aspects of IT infrastructure. To assist with hands on day-to-day support where specific technical expertise is required. To manage infrastructure aspects of new stores and refurbs. The role is a part of the wider IT team and will report to the IT Manager – North Europe.
AREAS of RESPONSIBILITIES and RELATED ACTIVITIES
* Planning and execution of works to improve store infrastructure (computer and networking hardware).
* Planning, execution, and maintenance of projects that involving store’s network, POS and hardware devices.
* Oversees management of store and office technology infrastructures including instore server build ups.
* Preparation, installation, and maintenance of hardware for new stores and refurbs.
* Work with partners and vendors to ensure continuity and support to business is always available.
* Own Ciao / Ciao POS server build process for the stores.
* Procurement of store hardware, inventory management and an understanding of hardware lifecycles.
* Manage relationships with external vendors (systems, infrastructure, etc.) Internet service providers,
* Telephone, external supplier for IT need.
* Follow documentation to build and configure laptops, iPads and devices for the store estate.
* Take on local support tickets for the store infrastructure and gets things resolved and done fast.
* Contribute knowledge, ideas and energy to the team.
* Manage and support technology to deliver IT goals and objective for the company.
* Support of colleagues in IT team (including European teams) as necessary.

Technical Skills and Professional Knowledge
* Good understanding of internetworking principals and common network hardware.
* Good understanding of server buildup.
* Confidence in a variety of OS environments – Windows, Linux, IOS
* Good understanding of windows and IOS configuration.
* Good understanding of standard PC hardware
* Excellent hardware and network troubleshooting skills
Willingness and ability to travel to store sites in UK, IE, NL, BE and DK.
Requirement to take a place in the out-of-hours on-call support roster
Candidate Profile
* Sound education to higher education level, with some formal IT related education.
* Solid professional experience in IT, particularly in field of networking.
* Experience and skills in project planning and management.
* Ability to communicate ideas and instructions orally and in writing to people with varying levels of IT knowledge.
* Ability to work alone as well as part of team - to share ideas, energy, successes and failures.
* Willingness to take responsibility, make decisions and manage time and resources wisely
* Self-starter with a keen sense for problem solving skills
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar IT environment supporting large multi-site environments
