A rewarding opportunity available for a few personal assistants to work together to make a difference in a young man’s life. Are you a caring, patient and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others and a sense of fun? If so, we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for someone to support a young man whose needs are very new. Somebody with previous experience in a caring role would be advantageous.
The applicant ideally will share similar interests such as music, including playing instruments, going out shopping, taking part in various activities, going out for lunch or to coffee shops.
Your duties will include:
1. Providing support to enable him to access the community for social/leisure activities.
2. Providing personal care - including washing, dressing and assistance with toileting.
3. Our client is a wheelchair user, so will need support into/out of his chair and assistance in the community with getting about.
4. Providing support with medication.
5. Providing domestic support.
6. Assisting with meal preparation.
7. On occasion, may need assistance attending an appointment.
You must have excellent communication skills, be trustworthy and reliable. A driver with a full clean licence is desirable, including proof of business cover.
Must be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
This is a job share position with up to 45.5 hours available, offering a generous hourly rate of £13.00, plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
