We are currently seeking an Air Conditioning biased HVAC Engineer to work direct for a leading Data Hosting company in Slough, that can offer career stability and progression within a rapidly expanding and career-proofing industry. The established Data team is very steady, and the vacancy has only become available because of retirement.
You will need to be technically astute and have good hands-on experience of carrying out the planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical and air conditioning systems. Applicants must have refrigeration and air conditioning qualifications, including a current F-Gas Cat 1 certificate. Engineers should also have worked within Data Centre or Banking environments, which has enabled them to build extensive hands-on ability in this critical field. Air Conditioning engineers applying for this role must have a good working knowledge of CRAC units, large commercial water chillers, and split A/C units from all the major manufacturers. It is also essential to be proactive in your approach towards the role.
The duties will encompass:
1. Oversight of mechanical vendors HVAC delivery, ensuring that all and any statutory and contractual deliverables are achieved within SLA's.
2. Responsible for authorizing and the oversight of mechanical MOP/SOP/EOP regardless of source.
3. Responsible for ensuring that all and any relevant RAMS are provided by HVAC specialist vendors, and these are suitable and sufficient.
4. Act as a mechanical competent person (CP).
5. Prepared to attend AP11 and medic first aid training and be an Authorised Person (AP).
6. Technical oversight (support as required) on all mechanical works and projects (In-Life and Fit-Out).
7. Assisting with commissioning and witnessing of existing infrastructure upgrades and enhancements; this will also include new facilities.
8. Participate/support in-house training to operational colleagues to increase awareness and competencies in respect of mechanical/HVAC systems.
