Transport Planner
Fareham
FULL TIME – Permanent
£££ - Competitive (£30,000 - £35,000)
My client is a fast-growing, award-winning CivilEngineering, Structural Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy withoffices in Fareham, Oxford and Cambridge. They are currently recruiting for anexciting opportunity for Transport Planners to join the team due to growth, tosupport a wide variety of projects in an expanding team.
Role Specific Requirements
1. Lead and manage small – medium sized projects, including budget and time management, delegating where appropriate with input from senior colleagues
2. Write and occasionally check Transport Assessments/Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals etc.
3. Good understanding of modelling packages, and methodologies to calculate trip generation and distributions
4. Ability to complete/review of planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, access designs etc.
5. Undertake site visits independently and provide professional opinions accordingly, particularly to inform scheme development at early stages of projects
6. Attendance at project team, client and Local Highway Authority meetings
7. Help preparing material for and attendance at Public Consultations
8. Development of good personal and company working relationships with architects/planners/local highways officers
9. Complete fee proposals for small to medium projects and input into larger sites where required
Skills & Experience Required
10. Degree level qualification or equivalent
11. At least 2 years Transport Planning experience, ideally exploring membership at a professional organisation
12. Working knowledge of relevant design guidance & awareness of relevant local planning policies
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to respond efficiently to demands at a high standard
14. Ability to prioritise workload, work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative
15. Experience of working with computer-based systems including Microsoft programmes
16. Experience using AutoCAD, TRICs and modelling software
