Information about the role The National CBRN Centre, located in Coventry, unites emergency services to safeguard the UK from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats. We are seeking a qualified serving police officer as a Training Officer to implement the Centre’s CBRN training program for Home Office forces, other organizations, and Partner Agencies. This role is available as a 2-year secondment, open to Constables. Your role will involve collaborating within a small team to enhance the National CBRN Centre by creating, delivering, evaluating, and ensuring quality in training materials to uphold high standards. A background as a CBRN responder with a training qualification (minimum BTEC L3 or equivalent) is required. Responsibilities Contribute to maintaining and developing multi-agency readiness to respond to CBRN terrorism, aligning with the NCBRN's vision and mission. Develop, design, deliver, evaluate, and assure training materials to promote individual learning. Ensure quality in training and development through cost-effective training supporting the CBRN strategy. Make decisions within the classroom environment. Maintain and develop extensive subject knowledge, both in training and practice. Foster relationships with external agencies and suppliers. Participate in the on-call (24/7) Operations Centre Cadre.
