Job Title: Consultant Anaesthetist\n\nSalary: Dependent on experience\n\nHours: To be discussed\n\nCompass Associates have partnered with one of the UK’s leading healthcare provider who are currently on the lookout for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join their team in the South Coast.\n\nJOB SUMMARY\n\nThe hospital operates seven days a week, with weekends being an integral part of the planned operating schedule and rota.\n\nThe working pattern outlined below applies to full-time employees. For those engaged on a sessional basis, this serves as an example and will be discussed upon each appointment. The working pattern consists of nine sessions per week, each lasting five hours:\n\n * 7 Clinical Sessions – The job plan includes Saturday sessions at least twice a month.\n\n * 1 Supporting Programmed Activity (SPA)\n\n * 1 Compensation Session for on-call commitment\n\nYou are expected to provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of absence, including annual leave and study leave.\n\nSURGICAL SPECIALTIES\n\nYou will provide anaesthetic services for elective procedures in the following specialties:\n\n * Orthopaedics\n\n * Urology\n\n * ENT\n\n * Surgery\n\n * Ophthalmology\n\n * Gynaecology\n\n * Endoscopy\n\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n * Deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.\n\n * Adhere to the work schedule as set by the Hospital Director.\n\n * Provide comprehensive anaesthetic care for inpatients, day cases, and outpatients.\n\n * Conduct pre- and post-operative patient assessments, ensuring clear communication with GPs regarding unsuitable cases or deferred treatments.\n\n * Offer senior medical support to Resident Doctors (RDs) during normal hours and on-call, including patient transfers when necessary.\n\n * Participate in clinical audits, governance programs, and the development of Clinical Quality Standards.\n\n * Ensure efficient resource utilization and high-quality patient care.\n\n * Contribute to anaesthetic service planning and hospital meetings.\n\nPROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n * Maintain medical competence through GMC and Royal College of Anaesthetists revalidation and accreditation.\n\n * Keep an updated Portfolio of Professional Practice.\n\n * Participate in the annual Clinical Appraisal process.\n\n * Uphold a patient-centered approach in interactions with staff, consultants, and patients.\n\nWhat’s in it for you?\n\n * 30 Days annual leave (pro-rated)\n\n * Competitive salary\n\n * Discretionary company bonus\n\n * Company pension\n\n * Your professional indemnity insurance\n\n * GMC fees paid\n\n * Free remote GP service\n\n * Plus Many More\n\nWhat's the next step?\n\nIf you would like to be considered for this exciting opportunity HIT apply or contact Camila Mader
