Main duties of the job
* To assess children and young people for ADHD and as part of this assessment to ascertain if there are other co-morbidities.
* Assessment will include Interpretation and evaluation of neurocognitive measurements and activity measurements (Qbtest)
* Assessment will also include consideration of impact, differential or co-occurring conditions and a risk assessment.
* Post-diagnostic advice, psychoeducation and support
* To offer regular medication reviews to children and young people prescribed medication for ADHD, with monitoring of treatment response.
* To complete physical observations of children and young people as part of their medication review (height, weight, blood pressure and pulse)
* To care coordinate assigned cases and will manage these cases within a supportive MDT environment.
* To develop relationships with child, young person and their families (where appropriate) within a designated child, young person and their familys group to establish an effective therapeutic relationship that enables the communication and sharing of complex and sensitive information.
* The post holder as care coordinator will be responsible for the liaison and coordination of care delivered by them and the wider MDT and other services, the setting of goals and review in collaboration with the child, young person and families.

* The post holder will be responsible for making recommendations to the wider CFAA teams on additional assessment or interventions and skills required to deliver the plan of care and expected health/social outcomes which are evidenced based and lead to recovery and minimise risk.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
What you'll need:
Education/ Qualifications & Training :-
* Registered professional qualification in Mental Health, Nursing (RMN) or Specialist Community Public Health Nurse or Certified School Nurse or Paediatric Nurse
* Post qualifying Child & Adolescent Mental Health training or qualifications in therapeutic approaches with children, young people and families.
* Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology and teaching.
* Assessing and mentoring of students
* Preceptorship training
Previous Experience :-
* Ability to manage risk and understanding of child safeguarding procedures.
* Worked with children and young people.
* Good organisational skills, ability to analyse sit
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :-
* Demonstrates knowledge of the issues surrounding child development and the impact it can have on meeting the five Every Child Matters outcomes, the Childrens Act 1989 and The Mental Health Act 2007.

Experience
* A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Hospital as Senior Specialist ADHD Nurse within the last 3 years.
Qualifications
* All Registered Nurse roles will be required to provide evidence of :-
