We are seeking a dedicated individual to develop and deliver training and testing programmes for all vehicular road users for both our internal and external clients.
You will be a strong, self-starter with the ability to motivate people. You will need dedication, resilience and strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to develop, manage and plan your own work programme to achieve objectives with the minimum of supervision.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a broad understanding of all road safety requirements and legislation and relevant practical experience of driver training and testing.
You will be required to provide and use a suitable motor vehicle for business journeys, for which a casual car allowance/motorcycle allowance will be payable.
The main duties of the post:
1. Discharge our responsibility under Corporate Manslaughter Act in relation to driver education/training.
2. Develop and deliver accredited training programmes for Driver CPC, licence acquisition, MiDAS alongside specialist courses set to meet the needs of the organisation e.g.: Banksman, off – Road training etc:
3. Develop and deliver driver behaviour training and testing programmes for all vehicular road users.
4. Income generation through the promotion of driver/rider training programmes for both internal and external clients.
5. Assist in the delivery of statutory provision on Authority.

6. Experience of delivery of driver training and testing (see Education requirements)
7. Management / Supervisory experience
8. Experience of productive inter-agency working
9. Knowledge of Road Safety requirements and legislation
10. Working with Youth
11. Business acumen
12. Relevant knowledge of Health & Safety
13. Relevant knowledge of Risk Assessments
14. T. Literate (Microsoft Office Applications)
15. Broad knowledge of Road Safety practices and issues
16. Knowledge of process and structure of licence acquisition
17. Driving license legislation relevant to specific categories
Ideally you will have;
18. Minimum qualification requirement: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a suitable occupational area
19. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
20. DVSA Approved Driving Instructor
21. DVSA Fleet Instructor
22. Midas Instructor
23. C1, C or C+E LGV Licence – Full Category held for over 3 years.
24. D1, D or D+E PCV Licence – Full Category held for over 3 years.
25. RTITB Banksman
26. First Aid at Work certificate
Neath Port Talbot’s Road Safety team provide Education, Training and Publicity to a wide audience including Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Cyclists, Young Drivers and Professional Drivers. The successful candidate would play an important role in the road safety development of riders and drivers using our road network.
