Should you be interested please reach out to James Withington in the adult social care team on 01173 137 110 or contact me at j.withingtonbaltimoreconsultingltd.com Your duties as a Principal Social Worker: Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will have responsibility for adult social care professional practice for the authority, providing operational support to front line staff and leaders ensuring professional standards for practice are being met. As the Principal Social Worker, you will hold statutory responsibilities reporting to the Director of Adults, as well as being strategically responsible of the Professional Capabilities Framework. You will develop creative and innovative options for the directorate to work towards overall objectives for the directorate, whilst also providing workforce development options to ensure continued practice improvement. Experience needed as a Principal Social Worker: Be a qualified and registered social worker with Social Work England. Have past experience operating as a Principal Social Worker in previous local authority settings. Have advance knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory frameworks and their legislations. Including the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act. Experience on leading on complex cases with adult social care, including Serious Case Reviews as well as managing Safeguarding Panels. Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, with the ability to lead teams both operationally and strategically. Available references for the most recent assignments.
