We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small team of Catering Assistants. Our catering service provides a 4-week patient menu, using a cook/freeze food system. We are looking for a motivated person who has experience in catering and the preparation, re-heating, cooking, and serving of food and beverages. Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, part of the Active Care Group, is a modern newly built independent hospital run in partnership with the NHS (North Bristol NHS Trust). It provides an inpatient Level 1 intensive brain injury rehabilitation service (29 NHS England funded beds) for the South West of England and has now refurbished its old building to provide a further 23 slower-stream neuro-rehabilitation beds (Level 2). Both services will be managed in partnership with North Bristol NHS Trust. What you'll be working: Weekend Catering Assistant 15 hours per week (7.5 hours Saturday, 7.5 hours Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm) Salary: 11.68 per hour This is a part-time post. What you'll be doing: The successful candidate will have experience of food presentation, storing food products, relevant record keeping, be patient focused, possess high food and safety standards, have excellent communication skills, have a flexible and adaptable approach, and work well within a team. The successful candidate will work in our two on site kitchens. Ideally you will have worked in a patient environment and possess good inter-personal skills with patients and relatives. What you'll have: Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS NVQ Level 2 food preparation or food safety or equivalent. Educated to a good GCSE Level standard. Including good numeracy and literacy. Basic knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations Ability to prioritise and manage own workload within a busy kitchen environment Excellent communication and team working abilities. Customer service orientation. Flexible and adaptable approach Working within a Catering Dept Experience of undertaking catering, infection control and cleanliness related documentation Present a professional image. Awareness of importance of confidentiality Flexible approach to work a can do approach.
