Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing relevant mechanical Lifting Equipment to various projects around the country. You will be observing, learning and gaining an understanding of a wide range of hire desk skills and processes, while under the instruction of experienced and skilled staff.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
Initial responsibilities:
* Supporting the department in achieving its operational objectives
* Booking in and out equipment, machinery and site equipment
* Data input for equipment hired
* Rehiring and co-ordination of external equipment
* Liaising with Site Management on equipment requirement

Other duties may include:
* Answering the telephone in a professional and helpful manner
* Responsible for co-ordinating the correspondence from customers
* Meeting and greeting customers
* General administrative duties including typing correspondence by e-mail and letter
* Entering data onto internal systems with a high level of accuracy and speed
* Tracking internal projects including results from workflows and testing
* Working with various databases to extract and manipulate information
* Assisting with large mail shots, which will include photocopying and manually folding a large volume of marketing material
* Organising meetings and producing appropriate papers, i.e., agenda and minutes
* Creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
* Stock control; managing stock levels and reordering as and when appropriate
* Assisting the team Secretary/PA with duties as and when required
* Any other duties requested by the line manager

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.

Your training plan
Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer.
Day release.
You will undertake The Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship standard.
You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or maths if needed.
You will undertake both on and off the job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience.

Other requirements
