Role Overview
The position of Catering Assistant is referred to internally at Sanctuary as General Assistant - Catering.
Responsibilities:
1. Helping to prepare meals and drinks, following food hygiene standards.
2. Working with customers, families, advocates, and staff to ensure a high standard of services.
3. Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, communal areas, and customers’ flats.
4. Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment.
5. Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes.
Skills and Experience:
1. Working knowledge and experience of undertaking general cleaning duties is desirable.
2. Some experience of working in a domestic/catering environment.
3. Level 2 diploma in housekeeping/catering, or willing to work towards.
4. Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
5. A general understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
