Role Description
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Asset Care Manager, this role has responsibility for the planning and scheduling of the site Asset care strategy utilising the company computerised maintenance management system, SAP.
The role will work with the Asset Care Manager to develop appropriate Autonomous and Professional Maintenance plans, upload them into SAP and drive adherence to plan within the site.
As a part of the Engineering function, this role works with the site to strive to achieve optimal operational efficiency at the lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the function:

The role works closely with Engineering Team Leaders, Manufacturing Operations and Production Planning, to ensure the delivery of both the production plan and the planned maintenance activity to ensure the site is working to attain optimum efficiencies, effectiveness and profitability, initiating and implementing change as appropriate to meet the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities
* Safety, Quality, Hygiene
* Undertake duties in a responsible manner giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which form part of the Integrated Management System.
* Ensure work undertaken conforms to legislative requirements
* Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractor health and safety within the production and engineering areas
* Support a culture enhancing behavioural awareness to reduce accidents, incidents and near misses.
* Asset Care Management
* Work with the Asset care Manager and other members of the Engineering team as appropriate to develop effective AM and PrM plans for the site.
* Directly manage the efficient and effective delivery of asset care plans, implementing a standard approach with the drive to ensure effective use of the CMMS, namely SAP across the site, in line with the Group PMS strategy.
* Support the implementation of the Group asset care strategy across the site in conjunction with the Princes interpretation of the JIPM model involving AM, PRM and EEM.
o AM – Proactively support Autonomous Maintenance steps
o PRM – Drive Professional Maintenance steps
o EEM – Engage and support in Early Equipment Management on Capital projects
* Ensuring cost of maintenance and maintaining assets is transparent and known.
* Directly manage the development of SAP PM and other systems to drive planning and control and focussed improvements.
* Produce appropriate reports to enable the cost of asset management to be totally transparent and to allow effective management decisions.
* Support the implementation of effective materials management through SAP MM with optimised levels of spares and stock accuracy and service levels and known cost of asset spares.
* Maintain and exceed engineering standards etc. within group supply operations ensuring that substandard performance is identified and remedied.
* Site Services and Energy Management
o Produce utilities KPI’s and schedule statutory inspections ensuring compliance with current legislation.
* Continuous Improvement
o Support the transition from reactive to proactive with targets of 80% of Engineering work planned in advance, 20% of engineering time on C.I. with 75% known utilisation of engineers.
* Manage/Develop People
o Drive the training and development of the Engineering Technician teams within the SAP and other planning environments.
o Promote the highest levels of motivation and engagement, demonstrating effective leadership and communication.
o Conduct self in line with site values and behaviours at all times.
* Technical Leadership
* Act as first point of technical support for Operations and Shift Managers in relation to SAP PM.
* Apply defined best practice in Asset Care Management activity
* Develop and apply own specialist technical skills in support of Asset Care Management KPI’s
* Support the Asset Care Manager in ensuring that anyone involved in the Asset Care Management process have a full understanding of the fundamentals of the processes and that any new technology and procedures are introduced in a manner that improves the competitive cost base of the Asset Care requirements for the site.
* Communication
* Work closely with support functions (HR, H&S, Manufacturing, Technical, Logistics and Finance) to ensure resources required are identified and communicated with all outstanding issues resolved.
* Communicate daily with Engineering, Manufacturing and Planning to ensure asset care plans for the site are executed as scheduled.
* Liaise daily/hourly as required with colleagues within and cross functionally regarding asset care matters
* Communicate daily with engineering, manufacturing and planning to ensure asset care schedules take into account production priorities and considerations
* Ensure communication to other sites and peers are undertaken as and when required to ensure consistency and best practice.
Role Requirements
Experience Required
* HNC/HND Caliber, hand-on experience in an operational and engineering environment with a track record of world class asset care implementation within the manufacturing sector.
* Demonstrable track record of achieving results/managing change.
* Strong operational grounding within a complex fast-moving manufacturing environment.
* Operated within and familiar with implementation of the principles of World Class Manufacturing environments / Continuous Improvement methodologies.
* Experience of delivering results against financial targets, service levels and safety standards.
* Good knowledge of established manufacturing processes, with awareness of developing technologies and techniques.
* Good working knowledge of operating systems such as SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
* Practical understanding of factory services (electricity, steam, compressed air, water etc.)
