Responsibilities of a Science Teacher: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the science curriculum. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. Support students in their academic development and guide them in practical experiments. Encourage curiosity and critical thinking in students across Key Stages. Promote positive behaviour management in the classroom. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support. Participate in school activities and extracurricular events to enhance student development. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other school staff. Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school’s ethos and values. Teacher of Science Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification. A degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics). Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3, 4 & 5. Strong classroom management skills and a passion for teaching Science. Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
