An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal (SENDCo) to join a highly reputable Multi Academy Trust at a large secondary school in Grimsby. This is a pivotal leadership role for a passionate and skilled individual who is committed to ensuring outstanding provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The Role:
The Assistant Principal (SENDCo) will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering an inclusive education strategy, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally. They will be responsible for:
* Leading and managing the SEND provision across the school.
* Developing and implementing the SEND strategy in line with national guidelines and the Trust’s vision.
* Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
* Overseeing EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) processes and coordinating with external agencies.
* Providing expert guidance and training to staff on inclusive teaching strategies.
* Leading a team of support staff, including Teaching Assistants and specialist SEND practitioners.
* Monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions and support plans.
* Fostering a culture of high expectations and inclusion for all students.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate will:
* Be a qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
* Hold or be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo).
* Have significant experience working with students with SEND, ideally in a leadership capacity.
* Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
* Have a track record of successfully improving SEND provision and student outcomes.
* Be an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
* Show a passion for inclusive education and a commitment to ensuring all learners succeed.
