Calderdale Adult Learning is on a journey to become an outstanding provider. Learners are always at the centre of everything we do, so this is an excellent opportunity to be a part of our growing provision.
We are looking for individuals who share the 'outstanding' ethos, are passionate about teaching, positively influencing learners' lives.
We offer a wide range of courses to approximately 4,000 Adult learners throughout Calderdale, accredited and community-based learning. Our provision adapts to the needs of our communities.
It offers a range of opportunities to learn, grow in confidence, gain the qualifications that support entering employment, career changes, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, improving emotional health and well-being, and gaining skills to help in daily life.
Many people view sign language as a means of communication for someone who has been profoundly deaf from childhood. However, deafness can impact anyone at any point in their life and an ageing population means that there are more people facing hearing loss later in life.
We currently deliver BSL Level 1, and are looking to appoint an outstanding, learner centred, and enthusiastic tutor to support the growth of this provision.
Teaching experience within an adult setting is essential, and you should hold a recognise teaching qualification and the appropriate qualification and/or professional experience in BSL.
You will assess learners' starting points, tailor learning to individual needs and track progress.
You will be an effective team player, be flexible, willing to take on new teaching challenges and have experience of using online platforms to support teaching and learning.
Tutors are required to provide relevant IAG to identify appropriate future choices and pathways and ensure learners are aware of all the opportunities available to them.
Please note: We have some flexibility to discuss and agreed day/times for this contract with the successful candidate. When completing your application, it is essential to evidence how you meet the personal specification in your person statement.
