Role Overview
Vario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. It is unique in the legal sector. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates; Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (MLS). This role sits within our MLS team.
Our Vario MLS team helps clients to enhance the performance of their in-house teams through efficient resourcing solutions. We use a combination of lawyers, processes, and technology to deliver outcomes for clients faster and smarter than traditional law.
Within our MLS team, we have developed a new Paralegal Centre of Excellence, which brings together a range of paralegal skills and capabilities, that provide a variety of services to our lawyers and clients.
We are recruiting a Paralegal to join our Paralegal Centre of Excellence team within Pinsent Masons Vario in our Edinburgh or Manchester office.
The purpose of the role is to support our lawyers with a variety of technical, administrative and client relationship tasks. The Paralegal will be responsible for:
1. Creating new files from instructions received from the client
2. Generating and issuing leases to third party solicitors to facilitate property completions
3. Reviewing lease amendments and liaising with internal Property team to establish agreement of lease terms
4. Dealing with all pre-completion formalities including submitting and reviewing official searches, collation of mandatory pre-completion deliverables and procurement of correctly executed documentation
5. Dealing with all aspects of plot sale completions
6. Drafting and submission of SDLT and HMLR applications
7. Dealing with requests for information from HMLR ensuring resolution
8. Dealing with third party queries through to resolution
9. Maintaining regular client contact
10. Document and data room management
Candidate Overview
The ideal candidate will be meticulously organised, an outstanding communicator and excellent at managing and prioritising multiple responsibilities. This role will work closely with the legal teams and will need to build strong working relationships at all levels of the business. A desire to learn and develop as well as a can-do attitude are essential for this role.
In addition to this, the successful candidate will have the following experience:
11. Customer service and/or administrative experience
12. Caseload or task management experience
13. Previous Assistant, Paralegal or Legal Executive within Property is desired but not essential
14. Post completion and/or residential conveyancing experience is desired but not essential
