Exciting Opportunity for a Wills and Probate Solicitor

This is a unique chance to shape the future of a key service within our firm, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Role Overview: As our Wills and Probate Solicitor, you’ll be responsible for setting up and leading our new department, covering all aspects of wills, probate, and estate planning. You’ll manage a diverse caseload, providing guidance on complex estates, trust creation, and tax planning, while fostering trusted client relationships and growing this division into a vital part of our firm’s offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting wills, lasting powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents
2. Providing comprehensive tax and estate planning advice, including inheritance tax strategies
3. Administering estates, including complex and international matters
4. Setting up and managing trusts, including family and discretionary trusts
5. Handling contentious probate and disputed wills cases
6. Supporting executors and beneficiaries with legal advice and guidance on roles, rights, and responsibilities
7. Developing strategic growth plans for the department and building strong client relationships
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
1. At least 5 years post-qualification experience in wills, trusts, and probate work
2. Strong technical knowledge, with experience in private client work and estate planning
3. A self-starter attitude with a desire to build and expand a department
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centered approach
5. Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
This is a permanent, office-based role with working hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
