An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager for Pensions Administration who will play an important strategic role within Bedfordshire Pension Fund.
The role, reporting to the Chief Officer for Pensions, will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the pensions administration function with emphasis on the need to deliver an efficient and effective customer service.
The post holder will provide leadership and coaching to develop staff within the Pensions Administration to meet the challenges consistent with the policies and targets set. Key projects include:
1. Implementation of i-connect
2. Supporting the 2025 triennial valuation
3. Managing Pensions Dashboard implementation and operations
4. Regulatory change projects including McCloud
The Person
The post holder will provide expert advice on technically demanding and complex Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Regulations matters to the Council in its role as Administering Authority and manage relationships with external advisors, organise the provision of training courses and play a key role in the actuarial valuations.
We are looking for an experienced pensions professional, who is ready for the opportunity to work at a senior level, leading the pensions administration team. You will have a good track record of managing a team, and expert knowledge of the LGPS Regulations. You must be able to work at pace and have excellent communication skills as you will be writing and presenting reports to councillor members and senior officers regularly.

The role is full-time (37 hours), though applications for part-time working will be considered. The team work flexibly both in terms of hours and place. Two days a week is expected to be spent in the office as a minimum.
