An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated pharmacist to work as part of our dynamic and friendly Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation team.
You will be a key member of the Medicines Advice and Effectiveness Team (MADE), and the Medicines Optimisation Team, at NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB)- Ipswich and East Suffolk Alliance and North East Essex Alliance.
This role promotes the SNEE Joint Formulary, medicines governance processes and co-ordinates a range of medicines optimisation work to implement local and national priorities across SNEE working collaboratively with other members of the interface pharmacy team across SNEE. You will work across the Integrated Care System (ICS) to manage the entry of new drugs, resolve interface prescribing issues, and promote formulary adherence across SNEE.
You should have relevant experience in primary and/or secondary care and a good clinical background. Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders are also essential. An understanding of formulary management, experience of implementing change and critical appraisal skills is also desirable for this post.
This post will be based at Ipswich Hospital however you will be expected to work cross-site. Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.
Main duties of the job
This role is integral to providing expert advice on medicines at the healthcare interface by developing strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the use of medicines that meets the needs of the patients in SNEE ICS.
You will be responsible for promoting the development and implementation of clear medicines governance processes across the ICS to ensure safe, effective and cost-effective use of medicines and meet all related legal requirements.
You will lead, develop and manage the SNEE Joint Formulary in collaboration with the ESNEFT Lead Pharmacist for High Cost Drugs and Medicines Optimisation for the managed entry of new drugs through the formulary processes, chapter review, the Traffic Light System and related shared care protocols.
In addition, you will support and manage the local implementation of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) work programme particularly for medicines used across the interface within SNEE ICS.

Experience
* Extensive managing service change at a senior level
* Production of complex written reports and business cases
* NHS experience in primary care and hospital/primary care network or GP practice pharmacy/community pharmacy
* Delivery of medicines standards and policies across a range of settings
* Experience of working with primary and secondary healthcare teams
* Experience of working on projects where post holder uses their own initiative/manages own time
* Experience of providing advice to specialist clinicians

Qualifications
* Vocational master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent + examined pre-registration training
* Pre-registration training or foundation year training completed
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Diploma in clinical pharmacy/general pharmacy practice (or equivalent)
* Evidence of and commitment to continuing professional development
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* PRINCE 2 Project Management Accreditation (or equivalent)
Knowledge
* Experience at a senior level in a complex organisation
* Knowledge of the system-wide NHS issues
* Extensive knowledge and expertise across a number of clinical areas including chronic disease management
* Knowledge of the work of ICBs, ICSs, and IMOCs (or equivalent)
