The role of an Approved Electrical Supervisor holds significant importance as it comes with a well-defined set of duties aimed at ensuring the delivery of projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality. It’s important to have a good understanding of leadership, managing resources, and maintaining open lines of communication for project success.
Requirements to be an Approved Electrical Supervisor
1. Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification.
2. 18th Edition Certificate.
3. AM2S Certificate.
4. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
5. A UK Driving Licence.
6. Eligibility to work in the UK.
7. An in-date ECS card.
8. Testing and Inspection 2391 Certificate.
General Roles and Responsibilities
1. Support the Project Manager in writing RAMS for jobs.
2. Develop and learn how to write programmes.
3. Manage and track materials including ordering, overseeing the delivery and ensuring they are used efficiently.
4. Complete an electrical site safety report before work commences.
5. Ensure NICEIC certificates are fully completed and issued for sign-off.
6. Inspecting and assessing work throughout the job and on completion.
7. Diagnose and resolve any issues that arise during the project.
8. Collaborate with the team to find solutions to technical challenges.
