We are looking for experienced and skilled Steel Erectors to join our client’s dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident working on-site, assembling and installing steel structures, and operating within a safety-conscious environment.
Overall Job Purpose:
As a Steel Erector, you will take on key responsibilities in steel frame assembly, bracing, earthing, and ensuring that all components are correctly installed to meet project specifications. This position requires working away from home Monday to Friday, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Assemble and install steel structures in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Safely work at heights, adhering to health and safety protocols and site-specific risk assessments.
Operate plant machinery such as telehandlers (if certified) to assist with steel erection tasks.
Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure precision in steel assembly.
Conduct structural bracing, earthing, and frame adjustments as needed.
Successfully join and secure steel frameworks such as beams and columns through bolted connections and welding.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Personal Qualities and Qualifications
Personal Specifications:
Proven experience as a Steel Erector or in a related trade such as fabrication, structural assembly, or welding.
Strong technical knowledge of steel structures and their assembly.
Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Awareness of health and safety standards and commitment to safe practices on-site.
A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
Qualifications and Certification:
Valid CSCS card (essential).
Level 3 Diploma in Steel Erecting or City and Guilds in Welding and Fabrication.
Relevant Experience will be considered in absence of qualifications.
Additional Information
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10 hours/day, 45 hours/week (Door-to-Door Pay);
Optional Overtime
Location: Various UK Sites (Monday to Friday, working away required).
Remuneration: Competitive hourly pay ranging from £16.00 to £24.00 DOE
Probation: 6-month probationary period
