Estimator - Industrial & Commercial Construction\n\n📍 Cardiff / Hybrid\n\n💼 Permanent | £50k-£70k + Package (depending on experience)\n\nI'm partnering with a highly reputable design & build contractor, renowned for delivering high-quality industrial and commercial projects. They are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team in their Cardiff office.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that focuses on sustainable and efficient building solutions within the Commercial, Industrial and Public sectors.\n\n________________________________________\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nAs an Estimator, you'll be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of materials, labour, and overheads for complex industrial and commercial projects. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure that each project is competitively priced while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.\n________________________________________\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n* Prepare Detailed Estimates: Produce accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial and commercial projects, including logistics facilities, warehouses, and other complex builds.\n\n* Review Technical Drawings & Specifications: Analyse architectural and engineering drawings to determine quantities, materials, and project timelines.\n\n* Subcontractor and Supplier Engagement: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.\n\n* Risk & Value Engineering: Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities to optimise cost-efficiency and project outcomes.\n\n* Cost Tracking & Reporting: Monitor cost variances and report on any significant changes to project budgets during the pre-construction phase.\n\n* Tender Submissions: Assist in preparing and reviewing tender submissions, ensuring they meet client requirements and are competitively priced.\n\n* Maintain Cost Databases: Update and maintain accurate cost databases and records to ensure future estimates are well-informed by past project data.\n\n________________________________________\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n* Proven experience in construction estimating (main contractor experience required)\n* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current market rates.\n* Advanced proficiency in estimation software.\n* A strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.\n* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\n* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.\n\n________________________________________\n\nWhy It's a Great Move\n\n* Work on diverse and challenging projects with a forward-thinking team.\n* Hybrid working with excellent work-life balance and a supportive culture.\n* Clear progression opportunities within a company that invests in your career development
