We have several CSW vacancies on ward 2; these don't come up on this ward very often and are only vacant as people working on them have progressed and been promoted!
Ward 2 is a 34-bedded elderly care ward, and we pride ourselves on compassionate and person-centered care. We also work to make relatives and visitors feel comfortable on the ward and all work together as partners in care for the patient.
We welcome applications from experienced clinical support workers (from NHS and private sector) and also welcome applications from people who live the trust values of Respect, Compassion, Teamwork, and Professionalism.
Part-time and full-time hours are available; applicants must be willing to work over the twenty-four-hour day and have a mixture of shifts (days/nights/weekends).

3. Assist in the taking and recording of patient's observations.
4. Report changes to patient's health status to trained nurse for action.

Other Duties:
1. Assist in the maintenance of general clerical activities to support the clinical environment and patient care. These duties will include answering the telephone, taking and passing on messages to the relevant person, filing, keeping patient's bedside records tidy, etc.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community healthcare in the West Midlands, serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit, and an approved plan to build a brand new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021.
We provide high quality, friendly, and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and home-based care, so that those with long-term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.
We are recommended by colleagues as a place to work, which is supported by the trust's values to work as part of a team, being respectful, compassionate, and professional. We are committed to investing in our workforce.
The work we do is highly rewarding, and in addition to an attractive salary, we offer a valuable range of benefits, including: salary sacrifice scheme; car leasing scheme; on-site staff accommodation (subject to availability); the ability to retain your NHS pension (where applicable) or the opportunity to join an alternative scheme; and the opportunity to develop and implement your expertise in an encouraging yet challenging environment.
As well as the expected duties of a clinical support worker, we would expect that above all, your main responsibility is to ensure you always show kindness to patients, your colleagues, and visitors to the ward.
Your responsibility is to give the level of care you would want to receive yourself or would expect your loved ones to receive.
