Jobstore is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our client's leading manufacturing operation based in Bury.
The right candidate will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in industrial settings. Using a variety of systems, you will oversee routine maintenance and organise repairs. You will also be involved with control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance.
With a mechanical bias, your role is vital to the efficiency, development, and progress of manufacturing and processing industries. Working with other professionals, you will improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns, and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel, and production processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Carrying out routine maintenance work and responding to equipment faults.
2. Diagnosing breakdown problems, fitting new parts, and ensuring equipment is working correctly.
3. Carrying out quality inspections on jobs.
4. Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
5. Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.
6. Working with PLCs which control machinery on factory assembly lines.
7. Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
Qualifications in mechanical engineering are essential.
This is a 40 hours per week position, working 8.00 am – 5.00 pm, but this requires flexibility as and when needed. On occasion, it may be necessary to work unsociable hours.
