Job summary An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Part Time Band 3 Senior Therapy Assistant (30 hours) to join the Acute Medicine Therapy Team at Peterborough Hospital. If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for caring, this role could be for you. Candidates need a strong work ethic, a kind and caring nature and a willingness to learn and develop. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, working as a part of a supportive multidisciplinary team to assist in providing Occupational and Physiotherapy to people with a range of Medical conditions. The role involves; Supporting patients mobility and transfers Assisting the therapists and wider MDT with discharge planning Completing functional tasks delegated by the therapists to support the patient in returning to their previous level of function. Assisting on visits to patients homes to assess their discharge needs. Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively. Main duties of the job To support patients, their families and carers to maximise their participation in the attainment of their rehabilitation goals by following treatment programmes developed and provided by the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) involved To work as a supervised member of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining good communication with the AHPs, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team e.g. doctors, nurses and social workers to try to achieve the Predicted Date of Discharge (PDD).
