Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Configuration Control)
Role Description
1. The Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Configuration Control) will work with the Product and Support Engineering and Project Management Teams to establish, maintain and monitor the configuration plans and baselines for products and programmes for submarine programmes.
2. They will have a good knowledge of engineering and business practices that require configuration control and management and will be able to work with the Engineering Managers, appropriate Technical Authorities and Project Managers to ensure the correct controls and reporting processes are put in place. This will ensure that products, systems and supporting documentation are delivered in a safe, assured and controlled manner.
3. The Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Configuration Control) will be able to understand and report the programme status for engineering activities related to configuration status and the control of baselines, and will be able to identify and report problem areas. They will be able to work with the relevant stakeholders to establish recovery plans.
4. They will have a good understanding of the relevant maritime legislation, industry standards that will cover the configuration control and processes they will apply and will work with Support and Product Engineering Managers as appropriate to support the effective delivery of products,...
