At Leader Education, we are seeking a Support Worker to support students outside of a school environment, for children up to 18 years old in a Short Breaks centre based in the centre of Durham. The ideal Support Worker will have had previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational, Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential. This is a great opportunity to gain direct experience if you have an interest in working within education.
The normal working pattern is Saturday and Sunday 10:00 until 16:00 during term time plus flexible shifts during the holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
* Candidates will need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one.
* Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's.
* Promote a positive and inclusive environment.
* Monitor and manage student's behaviour and wellbeing.
* Support the development of social and emotional skills.
* Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students.
* A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs.
* Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
