Admin Officer - Barnet Civil and family court - Central Family Court\n Contract: October 2025 \n Salary: £14.75 per hour\n Location: Finchley, North London - Central Family Court - Holborn \n 5 day's work setting\n\nBarnet Civil family court, the court is closed for 12 months but they have location in Central Family court in Holborn It is for 5 months and pay is £14.75.\n\nThis is a temporary contract role until October 2025 for Admin officer's role with an immediate start date (Compliance dependant) for a five month duration with a possible extension offering 5 days in office work setting and a London location. (Holborn)\n \n Job Description:\n This is a brilliant opportunity for candidates to work as an admin officer on behalf of our client. Barnet Civil and family court as an, Administrative Officer responsibilities, preparing reports, and maintaining appropriate filing systems.
The ideal candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organise their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment.\n\nAdministration\n\nPreparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings.\nProducing court/tribunal documents.\nGeneral photocopying and filing.\nCreating and updating records on in-house computer system and data input.\nPost opening and dispatch.\nBooking, preparing and organising meeting rooms, supporting training courses and other group activities.\nPreparing meeting agenda, joining instructions, handouts etc.Drafting\n\nStandard letters and correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, submissions etc, according to guidelines and instructions.\nTo maintain accurate and concise notes on the appropriate operating systems following enquiries or case related actions.Operations\n\nClerking civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings, ensuring papers and materials are available and up to date\nAssisting court users, supporting listing and rota management, checking files\nContacting relevant parties, scheduling, serving court documents, executing a range of warrants, collecting fines and fees etc, including the use of chip and pin\nHandling counter (face to face) enquiries, and a broad spectrum of written and telephone enquiries.\nTo work as a team to ensure TIB (Team Information Board) meetings are relevant, timely and productive\nTo work as a team to problem solve, to assess the impact of new SOPS, to contribute to small projectsProcessing casework\n\nIncluding standard documentation and information, court orders, claims, fines and fees, legal aid\nResulting courts accurately, interpreting accurately the information required on a court file\nTo work to workload targets in terms of throughput and accuracyChecking and verifying\n\nDocuments, records, accounts, claims and returns for approval, results, statistics, plans etc. against criteria, regulations or procedures.\nEnsuring compliance and administration documentation meet quality standards.\nRole holders may be required to cross check and validate work completed by colleagues.Collecting and assembling information\n\nFor returns, results, accounts, statements, warrants, statistical analysis, reports etc.\nWork may require interpretation of source materials, preparation of bundles, chasing.\nRole holders will need to modify and adjust information and make decisions to allow work to be completed.\nRole holders will need to collect and assemble information to prepare for and run the daily TIB meeting, as requiredUndertaking calculations\n\nProduce basic statistical analysis reports and where required, process financial information.\nChecking the work of others, updating records, assessing the value of goods and/or property, reconciling accounts, preparing invoices, information gathering and running straightforward reports.\nSpending limited sums of money on behalf of an office or unit.\nCalculate the anticipated numbers of Jurors to be called and manage the numbers to be as efficient as possibleCommunicating with the public, the judiciary, other court and tribunal users and representatives of other agencies and Organisations\n\nCommunicate and work with the Judiciary, Magistracy, the Cluster Managers, Court staff, and other internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and customers to collect information, check facts, communicate or enforce judicial decisions, give advice on the completion of forms or court procedures etc and provide excellent customer service.\nTo deliver a helpful, prompt, polite and "right first time" service to our internal and external customers \n\nAt Brook Street, we believe that by harnessing diversity of thought and experience across our company, exceptional things happen.
