The Vacancy
The Street Cleansing team are seeking a Community Operative on a permanent basis.
This is a front-facing service role where we are looking for an individual who cares about their community and takes pride in their work, striving to go the extra mile, with a can-do, positive attitude to problem solving. We particularly welcome applications from the BAME community.
Your primary duty will be based within our communities litter picking and ensuring our community bins are maintained. In addition, you will take a proactive approach to clearing dog fouling, removing weeds, and supporting other team members in responding to customer reports of fly-tipping, sharps, and other hazardous waste.
This role will be physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, walking considerable distances, and working in all weather conditions whilst on occasion operating small plant machinery and weed burners adjacent to the highway.
Due to the nature of the work, you will need to have a flexible approach to your working hours combined with a willingness to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service where enhancements will be payable.
