Our client is seeking a highly skilled Economist to join their team in London. This role offers the opportunity to support the development of strategic plans, perform economic evaluations of projects, and ensure the business operates efficiently within the regulatory framework. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of regulatory and commercial frameworks, proficiency in economic modelling, and excellent analytical skills.
Key Remits to the role will include but not be limited to:
* Supporting the development of the Company’s strategic plans and monitoring their implementation
* Performing economic evaluations of projects
* Supporting the preparation of investment proposals and monitoring approved investment proposals
* Maintaining and updating economic models used for regulatory reporting and project financing
* Implementing new economic models for emerging businesses and new initiatives
* Liaising with Technical departments to collate capital and operating costs for planning purposes
* Coordinating the investment monitoring process and preparing investment monitoring releases
The ideal candidate for this Economist position brings a wealth of knowledge from previous roles within the Exploration & Production sector of the Oil & Gas Industry or UK regulated business. Your familiarity with energy market dynamics coupled with your proficiency in economic modelling sets you apart from others. Your excellent analytical skills will be essential in this role.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
* Previous experience in financial modelling and investment appraisal in the Exploration & Production sector of the Oil & Gas Industry
* Strong understanding of regulatory and commercial frameworks
* Familiarity with energy market dynamics
* Excellent analytical skills
