We are currently looking for an agricultural paralegal to join our Cheltenham office.
To provide accurate and timely administrative assistance to the fee earners in the Landed Estates and Agriculture Team with their more complex files and to manage some of the more process-driven elements in order to free up fee earner time. This will involve working on matters relating to rural and agricultural land including sales, purchases, options and leases and easements. The primary purpose will focus on areas such as deeds, scanning, Land Registry applications and SDLT applications.
Training on the job will be provided but some prior experience would be helpful as would an interest in the countryside.
There is scope for the right candidate to develop their role over time but initially, it will be focused on administrative support and require office presence.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities
* To assist with deeds management
* To assist with Stamp Duty forms and payment applications
* To assist with and manage Land Registry applications and addressing queries arising
* To carry out office administration, including document scanning, composing emails and writing letters
* To assist with file management, opening/closing and compliance
* To organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone enquiries
* To undertake searches
* To assist in assembling data packages
* To analyse and input data, write articles for internal and external circulation
* To organise case files
* To network with clients and build relationships
* To conduct research and promote the brand where possible
* To attend meetings when required including note taking
* To be willing to attend other offices occasionally if required (travel costs to be met)
Knowledge, Education, and Experience Required
* Numerate and literate
* IT skills to Level 2 of competency matrix
* Excellent customer service skills with previous experience of working within a customer centric environment
* Good presentation and interpersonal skills
* High levels of attention to detail and systematic approach to working
* Very good organisational skills and ability to manage and balance a number of demands at any one time
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Willingness to learn and work both alone and as part of a team
