NautIQ Solutions is a part of Rolls-Royce Power Systems that focuses on delivering electrical, automation and autonomy products to our Naval and Commercial Marine customers. What you will be doing:
* Report to the Capability Manager, leading and line managing a team of around 15 engineers, who are delivering solutions across multiple projects of varying complexity.
* Act as the focal point for all aspects related to your team's engineering discipline and with support of the Engineering Governance Team, resolve technical issues as necessary.
* Engage with the Programme Management team to ensure that engineering estimates are accurate and achievable so that plans are resourced with the right skills, to deliver against planned and emergent demands.
* Support the business resource planning activities by providing resource and capability forecasts; including the skillsets (now and predicted) and the tools/infrastructure requirements.
* Robustly manage the workflow into your team and engage with stakeholders to manage technical delivery of engineering schedules.
* Report progress against the integrated plans, highlighting issues and identifying any priority calls needed.
* Effectively communicate technical risks highlighted by your engineers and the technical governance team to the responsible programme management team.
* Own the commitment, communication, and daily management of your team's resources in support of all programmes and projects.
* Visibly support a strong, proactive commitment to Continuous Improvement/Lean.
* Work closely with the engineering governance team to effectively manage your team's professional development.

Who We're Looking For:
* Hold a degree or equivalent level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline or have equivalent industry experience.
* A proactive, adaptable, and pragmatic mindset, willing to lead and serve your team to ensure they are fully enabled and supported in their work.
