A rare opportunity has arisen in the North East and Yorkshire Regional team within NHS England for a Chief Operating Officer. This is a key leadership role in the regional health system, with responsibility, in conjunction with other leaders from across the professional spectrum, to lead teams to support systems to deliver improved quality, productivity and performance for the region’s population, in line with NHS and other governmental priorities.
The Chief Operating Officer will lead on monitoring performance against annual operating plans and constitutional standards; supporting ICBs, providers and systems to optimise their overall performance, to reduce unwarranted clinical variation and to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources across the health service. This will require high calibre, credible and trusted leadership to support commissioners, providers and systems to deliver and commission high quality care in line with the requirements of Long Term Plan.

They may lead or support initiatives set out by the Chief Operating Officer for England in relation to commissioning or the national frameworks for performance, intervention and oversight.

• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
