The purpose of the Senior Test Lead Engineer role is to lead on all testing activities Global/UK Fabric.
Specifically, this role is accountable for:
1. Engaging as a Senior Test Lead for a hybrid (open-source, in-house) SDN/NAAS ecosystem (OSS, BSS, compute, underlay)
2. Ensures, defines scope and engages in and improves (inc. hands on) the testing of the whole lifecycle of solution
3. Establishes technical direction, defining industry leading test framework and responsible for test automation quality.
4. Leads feature level technical planning of required testing, development of new test cases for integrating to pipelines.
5. Ensures successful integration of a variety of automation and orchestration systems/endpoints
6. Tracks progress, resolves dependencies, evaluates risks and communicates status to stakeholders
7. Ensures optimal technical resources utilisation and provides input on optimisations
8. Manages defects from each stage of the test lifecycle and with vendors.
The skills you’ll need to succeed
Mandatory
9. Engineering leadership and excellence
10. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills
11. Extensive Hand-On Experience with CICD methodologies (Robot Framework, Selenium, Cucumber, Gitlab, BDD, Ansible), to build test pipelines etc.
12. Ability to debug, optimize test cases, optimise test pipelines and to automate routine tasks.
13. Ability to report test coverage, pass/failure and create dashboards.
14. Ability to manage test defects through the full life-cycle.
15. Demonstratable understanding of the different types of testing (Unit, Integration, Functional, End-2-End, User Acceptance etc.)
16. Hand on expertise in automating testing of network devices (GNMiC)
17. Hands-on experience of routing and switching protocols (ISIS, BGP, BGP-LS, MPLS-VPNs)
18. Ability to translate test requirements into test environment topologies.
19. Hands on experience with test tools such as Ixia IxNetwork and Spirent Test Center.
20. Good understanding of industry trends relating to testing/test automation and tools.

22. Experience with RESTful, gRPC, APIs and JSON/Protobuf
23. Open-source software experience and engagement with open-source development practices (e.g. Netbox, Elastic, Kafka, gNMIc, Kong, fluentd, Prometheus)
24. Some hands-on experience with Python Programming Language
25. Experience with data modelling with Yang (with a vendor neutral landscape in mind)
Desirable
26. Awareness of TM Forum API framework
27. Experience with agile delivery
28. Some experience with AWS beneficial
Typical Certifications/Accreditations Attained or working towards include:
29. Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology
30. ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management (CTAL-TM)
31. ITSQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineering (CTAL-TAE) or Equivalent
32. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Foundational
33. Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate (LFCA)
34. PCAT - Certified Associate Tester with Python
35. Cisco CCNP Certification or Equivalent
36. Robot Framework Certified Professional (RFCP)
