Job summary The Stroke Services at the Princess Royal University Hospital are seeking an experienced, progressive individual to join the established multidisciplinary team as Matron. In this role you will play a crucial role in supporting our existing nursing stroke workforce and senior nursing team. The Stroke service is one of 8 London Regional hyper acute stroke centres and consists of 14 medically monitored beds and 26 acute stroke rehabilitation beds. We aim to provide a consistent, high quality pathway in line with local and national stroke guidance and standards, working collaboratively to provide optimal evidenced based stroke care. We actively seeking individuals who are clinically expert in stroke in hyper acute and rehabilitation settings. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential qualities as you lead the delivery of safe high quality and efficient services in line with key performance indicators. The successful candidate must be able to lead and influence changes to nursing practice through integration of theory into evidenced based practice to promote optimum patient outcomes and care. Main duties of the job As a Matron, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Heads of Nursing and the Care Group to achieve their objectives, particularly their aspiration to excel in Stroke care. Your primary responsibilities will include providing professional leadership to a designated team and setting an example of exceptional nursing practice. You will serve as a clinical expert and promote a culture of professional growth and continuous quality improvement.
