Job Description
* To develop and roll out robust Engineering - MEP/ HVAC, Fire and Life Safety design standards across all Brands.
* To ensure Engineering, Fire & Life Safety, IT support is provided to all Design Directors via Design review services for new builds, conversions, and major renovation projects.
* To understand all regional statutory Health, Safety, Fire Codes and Security Regulations for SEAJSK region. Ensure tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and that records are maintained.
* To coincide with the Accor Sustainability Department to assist with establishing water & energy reduction and sustainable objectives via our DTS Product & Brand Standards.
* To develop policies, procedures and workbook to enable a due diligence process for existing hotels on instant noodles/conversions/rebranding by Accor Hotels.
* To support the Hotel opening process to ensure all Fire & Life Safety, Engineering practices and procedures are in place.
* To support Design Standards; ensuring Engineering Design Standards are effectively implemented for each project during the Design Stage.
* Required to travel widely for project meetings, site inspections and performing audits in operating hotels.
* To develop a comprehensive list of recommended, qualified Consultants and Contractors for Design & Technical Services.
* Assist T&C department to qualify suitable DoE or CE candidates for all pre-opening hotels.
* Provide Pre-opening support through corporate engineering team on the following: Pre-Opening & Operations manual / Engineering department set up requirements.
* Establish engineering operation procedures, engineering checklists, plant logbooks and energy consumption recordings.
* Departmental Profit and Loss and Budgets (POMEC).
* Provide guidance and direction to hotel management for the setting up of hotel technical operations.
* Engineering system testing & commissioning, acceptance and takeover procedures.
* Provide advice for establishing engineering programs such as work request system, preventative maintenance, and engineering annual self-audits.
* Assist DOE or CE with training requirements for the hotel’s engineering team.
* To mentor, coach, and provide advice to enable the DOE to take full responsibility of the engineering operations.
* Provide advice for purchasing required engineering FF&E.
* Assist in establishing energy management initiatives and sound environmental policies.
* Ensure Health and Safety practices are implemented in accordance with corporate programs and local laws.
* Liaise with Openings team on completion of areas and handover dates.
* To develop comprehensive succession planning and mentoring program for engineering colleagues within SEAJSK PME properties.
* To implement systems, processes and procedures to ensure hotel engineering operations are innovative, cost effective and efficient.
* To support and roll out comprehensive Pre-opening Engineering Manual.
* Support and roll out an Engineering Department Critical Path.
* To develop and roll out global maintenance standards.
* Support and roll out new policies and processes for engineering cost control.
* Hold property Engineers accountable for energy and water reduction to meet benchmarks.
* Hold Engineers responsible for maintaining records and for regular reporting of performance against Environmental objectives.
* Support Policies and Procedures to ensure all Hotels adhere to statutory regulations and fire codes.
* Support policies and procedures to ensure tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out.
* Support policies and procedures to ensure Hotels are aware of local Building codes and regulations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering, preferably with specialization in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with Building MEP System Design and Built Experiences.
* 10-15 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and MEP design in the hospitality industry.
* Skilled in architectural design related software such as RIVIT or AutoCAD.
* In-depth knowledge of engineering design codes/ regulations.
* English spoken and written proficiency is required.
* Skilled in Project Management software and Maintenance and materials management software.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
