Holiday Inn Gatwick Worth is a 4 Star AA accredited hotel in Crawley, which recently underwent a £9 million refurbishment and extension project.
We now boast 158 bedrooms, 5 event rooms accommodating up to 350 delegates and a new restaurant Meadow – Kitchen | Bar | Terrace.
We are looking for a sales driven and organised member for our team for the position of Groups, Events & Sales Coordinator. This is a fantastic new role within the Sales team, playing an important part in developing Group and Event business.
This position will be responsible for converting group business from enquiry to confirmed bookings and being sales driven to gain additional new business.
This is an important role as it generates key revenue for both accommodation and events for the hotel.
As Groups, Events & Sales Coordinator your focus will be to maximise sales through the following:
1. Responsible for all group enquiries, to respond to all incoming enquiries in an efficient and professional manner by email and telephone. Issuing contracts upon successful negotiation; this includes calculating deposits and understanding cancellation.
2. Winning and retaining business while promoting the awareness of all facilities and services on offer.
3. Ensuring all group and events are dealt with from enquiry to confirmation, arranging private dining requests and completing banqueting sheets with great attention to detail.
4. Use sales techniques that maximise revenue including up selling.
5. Pro-actively follow up on all provisional bookings, tracking the enquiries and maintaining good working relationships with clients.
6. Liaise with the other teams within the hotel to ensure a seamless transition of information from the Sales team to the Operations team.
7. Process and book all group accommodation within our reservation booking system; experience using Delphi and Opera would be useful but training will be provided.
8. Manage post event follow-ups, billing, feedback and maintaining client relationships for future business opportunities.
9. Researching and undertaking competitor hotel analysis.
10. Pro-actively seeking new group business opportunities for the hotel and arrange meetings for show rounds.
11. Assist the Sales & Marketing Executive with their duties when requested, such as social media and guest reviews.
The successful candidate will need to have the following attributes: immaculate personal presentation, professional, highly organised, great communication with customers over the telephone, good attention to detail, sales driven and love working as part of a team.
A great opportunity to work within a busy environment; no experience required but sales experience preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
