We are seeking a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of a team.
In this role, you will be part of the wider Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities Team, supporting the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults in the delivery and monitoring of adult safeguarding procedures across the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust. You will also provide specialist advice and expert knowledge to staff, peers, other professionals, and multi-agency partners on all aspects of adult safeguarding.
This is a cross-site position, and you will spend equal time at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, and Scunthorpe General Hospital, while also supporting community teams.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist the Named Nurse in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative practices for managing the Safeguarding agenda.
2. Maintain and improve professional standards of care.
3. Assist with ongoing monitoring, evaluation and review of operational arrangements for Safeguarding.
4. Assist in gathering complex data to provide information to the Trust Board and relevant Committees.
5. Support to ensure a patient and family-focused approach to Safeguarding is delivered.
6. Assist in developing and delivering a Safeguarding training programme in accordance with national guidance.
7. Contribute to the operational planning of the Trust Safeguarding arrangements.
8. Support to ensure the Trust can provide rigorous evidence demonstrating compliance with CQC standards.
9. Assist with investigating and responding to patient safety incidents, and learning is cascaded.
10. Actively collaborate with relevant managers and the risk team on investigations and responses to any relevant complaints or inquiries.
11. Actively participate in audits by gathering, analysing and evaluating evidence.
12. Ensure that all policies and procedures are regularly updated in line with national and local regulations.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Registered with a statutory health professional council / Graduate in Nursing or Health Related Subject
* Experience in both primary and secondary care services
* Masters Degree in Nursing/Research or Appropriate Health related subject
* Qualification in computer skills, confident in the use of systems, spreadsheets, database, data collection and co-ordination, word processing and report writing
Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Experience (through placements or employment) of working in a busy environment.
Occupational experience and abilities
* At least 3 years' experience of working with a caseload that includes safeguarding adult experience
* Portfolio of evidence demonstrating leadership, education and service development achievements
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of relevant clinical governance processes pertaining to safeguarding.
* Evidence of the proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multi-disciplinary team
* Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners and training need analysis
* Evidence of specialist professional knowledge in the safeguarding agenda supplemented by specialist training and CPD
* Able to demonstrate wide knowledge of health policy and its application in practice
* Be able to lead/oversee safeguarding quality assurance/improvement
* Experience of working in an acute/community Trust
* Demonstration of publications, presentations and personal research at national and international events
* Have a high level of understanding of court and criminal justice systems
* Experience in involvement with LeDER
