To help us continue this journey, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to come and join our growing finance team. You will work closely with the other experienced members of the team, gaining a deep understanding of financial operations within Resonance. This will enable you to work with and support the other Resonance teams and widen your knowledge of finance within the social investment sector. The vacancy has arisen due to an internal promotion and continued company growth, so you will have a detailed handover and ongoing training. You will need to have some experience of working in finance and will be given responsibility for a few projects when you join. The finance team works at our HQ, a barn conversion in Launceston, Cornwall, 5 minutes drive from the A30, this role will be based there. Working patterns at Resonance are managed by our Line Managers and as a minimum, you can expect to be working from the office twice a week. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO FOR US – RESPONSIBILITIES Processing invoices for a variety of entities Obtaining approvals, compiling payment runs and organising signatories Book-keeping entries in Xero Bank reconciliations Maintaining basic cash-flow forecasts Checking and processing monthly expense claims Assisting with processing of transactions relating to the various group companies Gathering data to support various reports such as management accounts Providing support to Finance Director and other team members as required WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING TO US – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE About You A great team player Excellent attention to detail Highly numerate Efficient and accurate Healthy respect for deadlines Good at multi-tasking and flexible enough to react to changing circumstances Professional and discrete; knowing how to handle sensitive/confidential information and being diplomatic if challenged Able to travel to the other offices occasionally when required (we have teams in Manchester, London and Bristol) Essential Competencies Fully subscribes to Resonance’s vision, mission and values Enthusiasm to work in an entrepreneurial and innovative environment Competent IT skills including use of MS Office and web-based tools, with some experience of using accountancy packages Basic accountancy knowledge is required and we welcome applicants who are actively studying or would like to study towards an accountancy qualification Able to plan and prioritise your own work Good communication skills Desirable Competencies Formal accountancy experience/training Experience using Xero or similar Knowledge of, or interest in the social enterprise sector Desire to help address social issues through impact investment HERE’S WHAT WE WILL DO FOR YOU - BENEFITS As well as working for an innovative, growing business with a strong social purpose and lots of variety, we offer a competitive remuneration package.
