Head of Woodland Nursery

Reports To: Head of EYFS

Pownall Hall is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Nursery, a brand new role within our setting, who will work alongside the Head of EYFS to lead and manage the nursery, ensuring a high standard of care and education for young children aged 6 months to 3 years. This position requires a dedicated and passionate leader who will foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. The Head of Nursery will also work collaboratively with parents, staff, and the wider community to support children's development and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership: Lead and manage the nursery team, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
• Curriculum: Oversee the planning and delivery of a high-quality, play-based curriculum that meets the developmental needs of all children.
• Health and Safety: Ensure that the nursery complies with all health and safety regulations, creating a safe and secure environment for children and staff.
• Parent and Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers, involving them in their child's learning journey.
• Financial Management: Assist in the budget planning and financial management of the nursery, ensuring resources are used efficiently.
• Staff Development: Conduct regular staff performance reviews and facilitate training to support continuous professional development.
• Additional Responsibilities: Attend and participate in management meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Attend whole school events as the Nursery is very much a part of the school.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Level 5 or above qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and current educational policies
• Previous experience in a leadership role within early years education settings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team
