We are looking for dynamic, flexible, and creative tutors to join our team to teach English/ESOL in Whitehaven and the surrounding areas, including Millom. The Whitehaven Team works from Whitehaven Library delivering exciting and transformational teaching to learners across Whitehaven and the surrounding villages and towns.
These roles support our learners on GCSE and Functional Skills pathways from Entry 1 to Level 2. If you have experience of teaching ESOL Skills for Life and working with ESOL learners from complete beginner level, this would be an advantage.
Who we are looking for…
1. An outstanding practitioner who is dynamic, flexible, and creative.
2. Someone who is learner centric and focused on delivering positive outcomes for learners of all abilities and levels.
3. Someone with experience of teaching Functional Skills from Entry 1 to Level 2.
4. Someone with experience of teaching GCSE English.
5. An enthusiastic individual to motivate even the most reluctant of learners and those for whom education has not been a positive experience to reach successful outcomes.
6. A teacher who is proficient in teaching online using Zoom.
7. A person who can deliver face-to-face lessons in venues across the local area.
8. Someone who is willing to work varied hours, including evenings.
9. You will have a teaching qualification or be very close to completing this qualification.
Teaching hours will be varied. Classes take place in daytime and evening hours, and due to the vulnerable nature of our learners, we will need you to carry out your teaching face-to-face and online.
Our Whitehaven tutors pride themselves on being a friendly ‘can-do’ team, and we’d love you to come and join us to make a real difference to people’s lives.
