The primary purpose of this role is to support all Integration activities associated with our A400M/A330 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) and Flat Panel Flight Training Device (FP-FTD) solutions, both in-house (Crawley) and as installed at customer sites across the UK and Europe.
Key Interactions
You will work closely with all members of the project team including Solution Integration and Test Engineers, Software Configuration Controller (SCC), Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), Solutions Architect and System Engineers. This role will include a significant level of engagement and collaboration with the customer and end user communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Liaise with project stakeholders to plan Integration activities in line with the development/delivery lifecycle and timeline.
2. Lead the Integration of FFS/FP-FTD solutions across customer sites and providing support to Installation and Commissioning activities (as required).
3. Monitor, review and advise on technical issues encountered across the Integration phase, directly supporting with fault diagnosis and rectification.
4. Perform regression testing following the rectification of hardware/software faults and any other discrepancies encountered during software development, in-house Integration and solution Verification, factory and on-site acceptance testing.
5. Highlight any technical risks associated with the Integration phase to the appropriate project stakeholders, proposing any suitable actions to mitigate and manage these risks.
6. Ensure the daily readiness of FFS and FTD for our stakeholders.
7. Support the execution of in-house verification, factory and site acceptance testing.
Essential Skills & Experience
1. Strong knowledge of Systems Integration within the Flight Simulation domain.
2. Knowledge of various aircraft types and their respective avionics systems.
3. Experience of working with the architectures and interfaces of full flight simulation devices.
4. Experience in leading installation and/or customer acceptance activities.
5. An understanding of ATA Aircraft Simulation System Diagrams and Aircraft Wiring Diagrams, with an ability to read and use these in tracing unexpected technical issues.
6. Experience of working with Subject Matter Experts (SME), often remotely, to resolve technical issues.
7. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both individually and as a team, including within multi-cultural environments and with teams distributed across different sites/countries.
8. Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills with an ability to work effectively within tight time constraints.
9. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
10. Ability to manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
11. A methodical and analytical approach, promoting effective troubleshooting and fault-finding.
12. Flexibility and adaptability in changing situations.
Desirable Skills & Experience
1. Exposure to Software Configuration Control processes and tools.
2. Basic fluency in Spanish language.
Special Requirements
1. Security clearance (SC-level).
2. Ability to travel frequently within the UK and internationally (up to 20 weeks per year).
